Comparing Model, View, and Controller Architecture and Logical User Interface Model
This paper compares MVC (Model, View, and Controller) architecture and logical UI (User Interface) model. Logical UI model is based on PELUM (Pattern and Event Based Logical UI Modeling framework). PELUM is a framework for modeling UIs targeted for multi-device UI-centric embedded systems. PELUM provides not only a logical UI modeling tool but also an automatic code generation tool from the logical UI model. The PELUM code generation tool synthesizes executable code according to MVC architecture. Therefore, users need to understand how logical UI modelsare mapped to MVC architecture for them to customize the generated code. The result of this paper also promotes the degree of understanding of MVC architecture for users to maximize the reusability and maintainability of UI-centric software.
