A Study on Structural Analysis of Automotive Premium Seat Performing Swirl Function

The present article is concerned with a structural analysis on the frame of premium seat with swirl function applicable to luxury passenger cars. Analysis condition was the direction of forces acting on the swirl seat frame, and set as 0°~180°. This realizes impacts produced from the front of the seat in the condition where the seat is rotated. For the forces acting on the seat frame, FMVSS was referred to. As a result, the deformation produced in the seat and equivalent stress produced in the recliner housing were observed and the characteristics identified.
