Stoichiometrically controlled wurtzite Cu2CoSnS4 (CCoTS) nanoparticles were synthesized by a facile hot-injection method using thiourea as the sulphur source. Physical characterization of as-synthesised nanoparticles was done for phase identification and studying morphology. The nanoparticles showed a nearly spherical morphology. The favourable optical absorption spectrum of the nanoparticles and photoresponse behaviour of their films indicate that this material could be used as an absorber layer for cost-effective thin film solar cells.
