Study of Velocity of Sound in the Ferromagnetic Limit of Coulomb Interaction in Heavy Fermion Systems

We report here a microscopic model study of velocity of sound in heavy fermion systems based on Periodic Anderson Model in which Coulomb interaction between localized f-electrons is considered within Hatree-Fock approximation. The phonon is coupled to hybridization and f electrons. The phonon Green's function is calculated by using Zubarev's technique of the Green's function method. The temperature dependent velocity of sound in the system is calculated from phonon self-energy in the dynamic and long wave length limit. The f-electron occupation number for up and down spins are numerically computed self-consistently in ferromagnetic limit of Coulomb interaction. The velocity of sound is investigated by varying different physical parameters like electron-phonon coupling, Coulomb interaction, position of f-level, hybridization and external magnetic field. Anomaly in velocity of sound is observed at the Curie temperature due to Coulomb interaction between f-electrons under half filled condition. These findings are compared to the experimentally observed results.
