Complex Impedance and Modulus Spectroscopy of BaSr4LaTi3V7O30 Ceramics

BaSr4LaTi3V7O30, a ferroelectric compound with tungsten-bronze structure, is synthesized by high-temperature mixed oxide process. The formation of single-phase orthorhombic structures is confirmed from the room temperature XRD analysis. The quality and non-uniform distribution of grains over entire surface of the sample is obtained from SEM micrograph. The temperature dependent impedance parameters are studied using an impedance analyzer in a wide range of frequency (102–106 Hz) and temperature (30 °C–500 °C). The electrical properties studied using impedance analyser show; (i) the presence of negative temperature coefficients of resistance behavior, (ii) presence of temperature dependent electrical relaxation phenomena, (iii) evidences of single electrical relaxation attributed to the presence of bulk contribution to the electrical properties. The nature of variation of dc conductivity suggests Arrhenius type of electrical conductivity.
