The Synthesis by Co-precipitation method and Photolumenescence (PL) study of anhydrite salt CaSO4 activated with various rare-earth ions (RE = Eu2+, Eu3+, Ce3+, Tb3+, Dy3+ and Sm3+) were studied in details and reported. The structure and phase formation of prepared materials were identified by powder XRD technique and particle morphology were studied by FE-SEM. The existence of excitation band with high luminescence efficiency at wavelength 254 nm is characteristics of CaSO4: RE3+ phosphor. The obtained PL excitation and emission properties suggest that these phosphors were favorable for photoluminescence liquid crystal display (PLLCD), w-LEDs, fluorescent tubes/lamps, clinical therapy applications, solid state laser.
