An Investigation on the Use of Mobile Devices Among Older People

Technology such as mobile devices are becoming crucial for people. Mobile devices are predicted to replace the use of computer in performing simple task. There are limited usage of mobile devices among older people especially in developing countries such as Malaysia. Limited usage of mobile devices may due to issues like physical factors, motivational factors and mobile device design. This pilot study aims to investigate mobile devices usage among older in terms of mobile device purposes, influence factors, experiences and issues. Qualitative methods were used with older people. Older people perceived mobile devices as important tools for them to support their activities and live independently.
