The Role of Information and Communication Technology Sectors in Indonesian National Economy from 1990 Through 2008: An Analysis Using Input-Output Approach

The aim of this study is to analyze the role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sectors in Indonesian national economy from 1990–2008. In this study, Input–Output (IO) analysis is used as a tool of analysis. More specifically, this study employs simple output multipliers method as an analysis instrument. The results of this study show that ICT sectors did not have an important role in the national economy of Indonesia on the period of analysis.
