The demands of technology transfer and patent licensing are significant increase especially in recent IT industry. However, the transaction is not active at Taiwan in fact. The major question could be ascribable to the difference by patent valuation in varying situations. We believe that the different use of patent by different people may create a fundamentally different value to the real market. The purpose of this study is to explore the factors affecting the values of patent rights in each mentioned situations. Based on these factors, the reasonable approach to patent valuation can be achieved to improve the efficiency of patent right transaction in the future.
