This paper presents a game theoretic approach, called delivering dilemma game (DDG), which guideline routing of multiple real-time multimedia streams through multiple shared paths with different path quality metrics. Each path is a player, whose strategy space is the percentage of utilization of the high payoff stream. The objective of the proposed method is to achieve fairness and bandwidth efficiency for each path in the delivering of high payoff stream. The mixed strategy Nash equilibrium is used as a solution for the DDG. This provides the probability of the path delivering the stream. DDG is implemented in AODV protocol in Network Simulator NS-2 to verify its performance with simulations. Numerical analysis and simulations are conducted, and the results demonstrate that the DDG improves performance of the AODV compared to the same network with only AODV protocol. DDG can be applied to any routing protocol that delivering multiple multimedia streams through multiple shared paths with different path quality metrics.
