Based on design indexes of turnout wheel/rail relation and structural irregularity, a turnout dynamic parameters design method is proposed and a program is developed to calculate wheel/rail static contact geometry relationship of the turnout zone. Focusing on EMUs with LMA tread passing turnout No. 18 at the speed of 350 km/h through the main line, influences of switch rail parameters on wheel-rail relationship in switch section are analyzed. These parameters include the lower value and position of switch rail starting load section as well as the position of starting lowered section. An optimized design of wheel load transition zone of turnout switch is finally presented.
