A Face Detection's Method Based on Skin Color Segmentation and Edge Detection
Face detection is an important part of face recognition. This paper presents a real-time and effective face detection method. First using the method based on skin color segmentation and edge detection to map the human face and to determine the skin area, and then using morphological processing and prior knowledge on the skin area to judge and to determine whether it is a human face. The pictures which come from the Internet and daily life, including different lights, different backgrounds, different sizes, are made use of simulating. The results show that this method presented in this paper can be used in the pictures which contain one or more than one face, even in the situation that the skin area is connected with other types of skin similar area, this method presented in this paper have very effective detection results.
