Core–Shell Reversion of Gold Hybrid Polymeric Micelles Fabricated by Tunable Assembly of Block Copolymer
By the driving force of complexation interaction, the micellization has been induced in the model of polystyrene-block -poly(2-vinylpyridine)(PS-b-P2VP) block coplymer with PS as shell and P2VP/HAuCl4 as core. Core–shell reversion of the PS-b-P2VP/HAuCl4 hybrid micelles are formed by adding the precursor micelles in strong acidic solution. Moreover, we found that the dispersion of gold nanoparticles was accompanied by the structural change of the micelles, from core embedded micelles to shell embedded micelles. In order to reduce HAuCl4 molecules within the core, 1% hydrazine hydrate was used; as a result, we observed the formation of core embedded polymeric micelles with Au dots of around 5 nm in diameter. Core–shell reversion of the reduced core embedded Au hybrid micelles can also be manipulated to fabricate shell embedded Au nanoparticles.
