Seismic performance of a high-rise concrete-filled steel tubular frame (CFST) with reinforced concrete (RC) core was studied. The frame was a complex mixed structure and energy dissipation technology was adopted. In order to investigate the seismic performance and the damping effect for the entire structure and the connecting structure between the main-structure and the sub-structure, a 1:35 scale model with dampers and without dampers was tested on a shaking table under different earthquake excitations. The whole model's dynamic characteristics and seismic performance were analyzed and compared. At the same time the dynamic responses of the connecting structure was evaluated. Results showed that this complex mixed structure with dampers had excellent seismic performance, and the mechanical property of connecting structure was improved by the dampers.
