Modeling a Configuration System of Product-Service System Based on Ontology Under Mass Customization
Configuring a total product quickly and correctly is the first step to mass customization (MC) paradigm of product-service system (PSS). A meta-ontology of PSS configuration is set up to facilitate sharing and reusing. The structural knowledge of a specific PSS configuration, inheriting
from the meta-ontology, is formalized in OWL (ontology web language), while the constraints of configuration and customer requirements are programmed in SWRL (semantic web rule language) and JESS (java expert system shell) codes. After mapping them to the fact base and rule base, the configuration
reasoning processes are performed with the support of JESS rule engine. The proposed approach is demonstrated by an example of vehicle total product configuration.
