Thermal Error Modeling and Compensation for CY-K500 Lathe
The purpose of this research is to improve the machining accuracy of a CY-K500 lathe through thermal error compensation. This paper presents the whole process of thermal error modeling and compensation by using projection pursuit regression (PPR). The results show that the PPR model
improves the prediction accuracy of thermal errors on the lathe and the thermal drift has been reduced from 35 μm to 6 μm after compensation.
