White Horse Press

The White Horse Press publishes books and journals specialising in environment and society.
The White Horse Press is run as a partnership by Alison and Andrew Johnson, their daughter, Sarah, and Sarah's cousin James Rice. Alison and Andrew, who met at Oxford as postgraduates, live on the Isle of Harris in the Outer Hebrides. Sarah, who read English at Oxford and whose Cambridge PhD dealt with Nature, Culture and Landscape in Pacific Travel Accounts, lives in Cambridgeshire. James worked for many years in cultural film exhibition, after reading Biology and Ancient Greek at Swarthmore and Oxford. He lives in Edinburgh.
