For the first time in Algeria the quality and the variability of the chemical composition of essentials oils isolated from Tetraclinis articulata leaves in three areas ecologically various growing in west of Algeria were studied. The essentials oils yields averages obtains by hydrodistillation are 0,75% in the area of El Haçaiba (wilaya of Sidi Bel Abbes), 0,78% in the area of Ouled Mimoun (Wilaya of Tlemcen) and 0,35% in Frenda (wilaya of Tiaret). An analysis made within (GC) and (GC/MS) identified 36 components in Tetraclinis articulata leaves essential oil in the area of Ouled Mimoun and 43 of the same components in the area of El Haçaiba and Frenda. These major components represent the variability of quantity. The percentage following respectively by the three areas are: camphor(31,60%; 26,67%; 23,41%); bornyl acetate(17,12%; 25,79%; 24,59%); bornéol (14,27%;12,96%;; 6,64%); limonene (3,70%; 2,67%; 10,09%)and α-pinene (6,49%; 3,65%; 11,34%).
