Syntheses and supramolecular structures of silver(I) complexes based on 2-(2'-pyridyl)-quinoxaline
Three mononuclear complexes [AgL2 · X] (L = 2-(2'-pyridyl)-quinoxaline, X = [image omitted], 1, [image omitted], 2, and [image omitted], 3) and one 1-D organic-inorganic coordination polymer [Ag2L(CF3CO2)2]n (4) were obtained. Anions of [image omitted], [image omitted], and [image omitted] are non-coordinated counter-ions of (AgL2)+ cations with bidentate-chelated L (Mode I in scheme 1), while two bridging [image omitted] anions connect adjacent (Ag2L)2+ cations with mixed bidentate-monodentate L (Mode II in scheme 1), leading to formation of a 1-D infinite linear chain network. Complicated supramolecular interactions involving the anions in all four complexes result in multidimensional networks. [image omitted]Scheme 1. Schematic view of the coordination mode of L: Mode I, bidentate; Mode II, mixed bidentate-monodentate; Mode III, monodentate.
