New spermidines from the florets of Carthamus tinctorius

Two new spermidine compounds, namely safflospermidine A (1) and safflospermidine B (2), together with two known compounds, N1,N5,N10-(Z)-tri-p-coumaroylspermidine (3) and N1,N5,N10-(E)-tri-p-coumaroylspermidine (4), were isolated from the florets of Carthamus tinctorius L. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic means.
