Design: Descriptive.

Sample: Eleven Brazilian mothers whose LBW infants were hospitalized at birth and followed up for a period of four weeks.

Main Outcome Variable: Brazilian mothers' recollections about the home care of their infants.

Results: The study identified the infants' and mothers' profiles and the mothers' concerns about disruption in attachment due to hospitalization and their infants' growth.
