Bulbochaete batkoi sp. nov. (Oedogoniales, Chlorophyta) described from Poland
A new species of Oedogoniales, Bulbochaete batkoi, is described based on vegetative thalli collected from two lakes in the Suwałki Lake District, NE Poland. It differs from its congeners in having the basal cells globose, sculptured, and deprived of rhizoidal projections and the terminal filament cells tapering towards the end. These features of B. batkoi are also characteristic for several members of Oedogonium but have not been hitherto reported for Bulbochaete.
