A new fungus, Exobasidium gomezi, from Chilean Patagonia

A new species of Exobasidiales, Exobasidium gomezii on Pernettya mucronata (Ericaceae) from Chile, is described and illustrated. The fungus infects entire shoots of the host plant. Infected shoots are deformed with distinctly misshapen, pink leaves that are two time larger than normal leaves.
