The genus Epigloea Zukal in the Iberian Peninsula

Epigloea is an inconspicuous genus of algicolous fungi that was up to now unknown in the Iberian Peninsula. During the studies carried out on the lichen flora of Muniellos MAB Reserve (Asturias, NW Spain) seven species of this genus have been found. Here we present the results of our study of this overlooked genus. A key for all known species in the Iberian Peninsula is provided.

Epigloea, es un género de hongos de pequeño tamaño asociados a algas libres, desconocido hasta el momento en la Península Ibérica. Durante los estudios llevados a cabo sobre los líquenes de la Reserva MAB de Muniellos (Asturias, NO España) se han descubierto siete especies de este género. Se presentan los resultados del estudio y una clave para la identificación de las especies presentes en la Península Ibérica.
