In this paper Pilotrichum bipinnatum and Pilotrichum evanescens Crosby are reported for the first time for the State of Bahia, Brazil. Both species were collected in the Forestal Reserve "Estação Veracruz", a fragment Atlantic Rain Forest situated in the extreme south of Bahia, and represents amazon elements. It is an important piece of evidence to support the theory of the ancient link between Amazon and Atlantic forests. For the first time P. bipinnatum was found to bear propagula on the costal spine tip. Descriptions, illustrations and geographical distribution are given.

Neste artigo, Pilotrichum bipinnatum (Schwaegr.) Brid. e Pilotrichum evanescens (C. Muell.)
