Single crystal synthesis of the phases Bi2+xPb3-xCuxS6+x and Cu3-xBi5-xPb2xS9 in the temperature gradient. Solid solutions in the system Bi2S3-PbS-Cu2S
In the present paper, the thermochemistry relevant to the synthesis of single crystals of the compounds Bi2+xPb3-xCuxS6+x and Cu3-xBi5-xPb2xS9 in the temperature gradient is considered, and an effort is made to explain the solid solutions of the system Bi2S3-PbS-Cu2S on the basis of the electronic configuration of the constituent elements. These same ideas are subsequently applied to well-known examples of solid solutions.
