Two subspecies of N. humboldtiana from the Amotape-Huancabamba Zone in the northern Peruvian Andes (Bosque de KaƱaris, Dept. Lambayeque and Dept. Cajamarca) are described as new to science and illustrated. They close an apparent distribution gap in the Nasa triphylla complex and particularly in N. humboldtiana. The two new subspecies, i.e. Nasa humboldtiana subsp. subtrifoliata and N. humboldtiana subsp. glandulifera, are from highly degraded secondary vegetation along the margins of the forest and may face imminent extinction.
