African autobiographies written in German. Forms of literary representation and identity construction with reference to Chima Oji's Unter die Deutschen gefallen It is not obvious that a literature of migration from Africa has existed in Germany since the 1980s when one starts looking at seminars and conferences devoted to the critical reception and attempted legitimation of migrant literature. This paper aims to demonstrate how elements of autobiographical writing generate new forms of identity constructions which become socially salient in Germany. The analysis of the autobiographical novel entitled Unter die Deutschen gefallen by Nigerian migrant Chima Oji constitutes the focus of this paper.
