A revision of the southern African genus Pseudorupilia Jacoby (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae)

The southern African chrysomelid genus Pseudorupilia Jacoby is revised and transferred from the tribe Galerucini to the Luperini (Luperina: Megalognathites). Rhabdocneorane Laboissiere is synonymized with Pseudorupilia; R. sexlineata (Fabricius), Megalognatha inconspicua Jacoby and M. bicostata Allard are transferred to Pseudorupilia as new combinations. PseudorupiIia chera, P. careo, P. sola and P. sepia are new species. A diagnostic key, descriptionptions, host plant records and distribution patterns are given for these species and the type species, P. ruficollis (Fabricius). Male and female genitalia are descriptionbed and illustrated for the first time.
