My Path Toward Becoming a Bicultural Analyst: An Autobiographical Sketch
I discuss the path that I went through to become a bicultural analyst, dividing the path into four periods: pretraining period, application for the institute, training at the Topeka Institute, and reacculturation to Japanese society. I mention, especially, three topics that attracted
me in my analytic career: shame and social phobia, Kohutian and relational theory, and trauma and dissociation.
