Anti-discriminatory work on placement: Helping students prepare
This article describes and evaluates the approach taken by one social work training course in preparing students for anti-discriminatory work on placement. Within that context, the article explores the strategies and skills that students need to develop in this area of practice. It posits that it is both important and feasible to tackle discrimination across a range of areas through the placement-focused workshop method used and thus enable students to understand the interaction between discriminations and to develop transferable skills in their responses.
