Renewal and Soul Survivor as Distinction and Subcultural Capital
Charismatic Worship is a mediated religious subculture. The use of popular music in worship has transformed the way that this subculture operates. Using the notions of distinction and subcultural capital, the effect of these changes is discussed by comparing the contemporary charismatic youth festival, Soul Survivor with the early days of Renewal.
