SAS's Balancing Act between Benefits for Society and Problems for the Environment
SAS Group is the largest aviation and travel corporation quoted on the stock exchange in Scandinavia, and the fourth largest aviation company in Europe, in terms of the number of passengers and turnover. The company also runs operations supporting aviation operations – for example ground service and technical service – in addition to hotels. The SAS Corporation sees their main function as providing Northern Europe, and particularly Scandinavia, with air travel provision, while at the same time generating added value for stock owners.
