This article proposes an elaboration and extension of link psychoanalysis, via the concept of the link complex. It considers the impacts on the mind in the face of the contemporary world, including the diversity of linking configurations, the Covid-19 pandemic, and the different resources that have to be created to assure continuity of clinical care during the pandemic. It considers the impacts upon the analyst's mind in response to these strains, and proposes the link complex as a means of conceptualising how current realities alter the definition of what the contemporary family is.
