Bislang wurde der Rechtspopulismus in der interdisziplinären Nachhaltigkeitsforschung kaum berücksichtigt. Ebenso behandelt die Forschung zu Rechtspopulismus kaum Umweltthemen. Die Forschungslücken sind also offensichtlich ‐ von einer engeren Zusammenarbeit könnten beide Forschungscommunities profitieren.
