Im Zuge der Energiewende steigt der Rohstoffbedarf für den Ausbau erneuerbarer Energietechnologien. Um die Versorgung mit Kupfer, Kobalt oder Seltenen Erden zu sichern, werden bislang vornehmlich technologische Lösungen wie Recycling oder die Erschließung neuer Rohstoffquellen diskutiert, so etwa in der Studie Rohstoffe für die Energieversorgung der Zukunft. Gesellschaftliche, für Nachhaltigkeit entscheidende Perspektiven wie die Interessen lokaler Akteure greift die Studie kaum auf.

  • GAIA is a peer-reviewed inter- and transdisciplinary journal for scientists and other interested parties concerned with the causes and analyses of environmental and sustainability problems and their solutions.

    Environmental problems cannot be solved by one academic discipline. The complex natures of these problems require cooperation across disciplinary boundaries.     All contributions undergo a double-blind peer review.
