Review of Competition Law and Policy in Mexico
In 1998, the OECD began reviewing the progress of regulatory reform in its Member countries. These reviews are prepared by the OECD Secretariat and examined by delegates from all Member countries. The final product, however, remains under the responsibility of the Secretariat and does not necessarily represent the views of any OECD Member country. Competition policy is one of several areas under review in each country. Mexico was one of the first countries to be reviewed under the regulatory reform programme. The entire report, including this chapter, is to be published by the OECD in December 1999 under the title, “Regulatory Reform in Mexico”. This chapter was prepared by Michael O. Wise as part of the consultative, multidisciplinary process described above.
