Bibliographic challenges in historical context: looking back to 1982
Purpose ‐ The purpose of this article is to reflect on the state of bibliographic access. Design/methodology/approach ‐ The article contrasts today's bibliographic challenges with those of 25 years ago. Findings ‐ The article suggests many of
the inadequacies that existed in the past will persist into the future. Originality/value ‐ The article provides a means of viewing today's bibliographic environment in historical context.
