Electrodeposition of Platinum Metals from Molten Cyanides
Platinum, palladium and iridium coatings have been electrodeposited on a variety of substrates from molten cyanides and the techniques, which are described in this paper, have also been used to electroform platinum and iridium crucibles. While the platinum and palladium electrolytes
were prepared and used in vessels open to the atmosphere the molten iridium cyanide baths were kept under argon.
