HPLC Determination of Crocin,Crocin and Crocins in Croucus Sativus Extract and Tablets
This paper reports a reversed phase high performance liquid chromatographic method to determine crocincrocin and crocins in extract and tablets.The experimental conditions of HPLC were as follows:Spherisorb 5 ODS column(150mm×4.6mm)with on-line filter with Guark-column,mobile phase:methanol-water(55:45)detection wavelength 440nm,flow-rate 1.0mL/min,paper feed-rate 0.5cm/min.The recovery of the method:crocin in crocus extracts was 103.3%(RSD3.2%),crocin in crocus extracts was 99.3%(RSD3.7%),crocins in crocus extracts was 100.4%(RSD1.7%)(n=9).Crocin in crocins tablet 98.4%(RSD1.5%),crocin in crocins tablet was 101.7%(RSD1.1%),crocins in crocins tablet was 99.8%(RSD2.0%).The resolution of this method is fine and accurate.It provides a means for the control of crocus extracts and tablets.
