This article focuses on the use of ICT in community learning in India. In the context of a general overview of the range of recent initiatives, it discusses the case study of the ‘Mapping the Neighbourhood’ project in Uttaranchal State. This particular project not only used
ICT in a community learning context but also with the aim of fostering community awareness and encouraging young people to acquire new applied ICT skills and knowledge.
