Sears Foundation for Marine Research

The Journal of Marine Research, one of the oldest journals in American marine science, occupies a unique niche within the ocean sciences and has published important research in physical, biological and chemical oceanography going back to 1937. Within the rich tradition and distinguished history of the Sears Foundation for Marine Research, the Journal of Marine Research publishes peer-reviewed research articles covering a broad array of topics in physical, biological and chemical oceanography.

The Sea: Ideas and Observations on Progress in the Study of the Seas presents peer-reviewed research in a continuing, comprehensive, and timely synthesis of the state of knowledge of ocean science. This long-standing and well-respected oceanographic series has addressed topics that include physical, biological, and chemical oceanography, marine geology and geophysics, and the interactions of the oceans with the atmosphere, the solid earth, and ice. Volumes are published as occasional supplements to the Journal of Marine Research and contributions are available both individually online and compiled for purchase in paperback.
