Studies on germination and post-seminal development are important to support species recovery programmes by sexual propagation. We aimed to analyse the germination and morphology of post-seminal development of A. bambusoides, in order to provide essential baseline data for conservation of the species. There was high germination (96%), high germination speed index (16.02) and 75.5% of seeds germinated by seven days of imbibition, indicating high physiological quality. The species has high potential for seedling production, which is important for creating ex situ collections and ultimately for conservation of the species. The germination is of the epigeal type and the seedlings are cryptocotyledonous. The primary root presents limited growth; to compensate, the adventitious roots appear and expand over a few days.", }
