This paper shows a novel approach to the monitoring system and construction of wooden post-formed gridshells, with the objective of facilitating the construction and its precision, to get the same shape as the designed one in a simple and cost-effective way. This is the outcome of a joint research project between Diarc (“Federico II” University) and “Suor Orsola Benincasa” University. Such a system is here applied to monitor the early life stages of the gridshell “Toledo 2” designed and built by Gridshell.it team in May 2014.
