Edited by: John Peters and Mathew Wood. This collection is one of a number drawn from EFMD's Global Focus magazine, published in 2014, and selected to present insights into the management, challenges and preoccupations of senior managers in some of the world's leading business schools. Together, this collection constitutes possibly the first really in-depth collection of insights into strategy, leadership and policy-making in business education. Everyone knows what a business school is, and an increasing number of people attend them each year - more than 700,000 students graduated from business schools in the USA alone in 2011. But not many people know how a business school works. You can learn strategy, marketing, competitive positioning and global strategy there - but how does that work in the institutions themselves?
