The determination of the acoustical properties of an environment are considered, in general, to be given by the measure of the reverberation time. The results of such measurements show a dispersion which is related on the one hand to the respective positions of the source and the microphone and on the other to the experimental procedure itself. This latter arises from the nature of the acoustic source and the chosen method of calculation.

Existing theories have been compared with the different methods of measuring reverberation time. A method has been divised to allow for the diversity of the measurements. The experimental results are in good agreement with the theory.

La détermination des propriétés acoustiques d'un local passe généralement par la mesure de la durée de réverbération.

Les résultats obtenus présentent une certaine dispersion liée d'une part aux positions respectives de la source et du microphone, d'autre part à la méthode de mesure elle-même. Cette dernière intervient par la nature de la source acoustique choisie et par la méthode de calcul choisie.

En s'appuyant sur les théories existantes, on a comparé les différentes méthodes de mesure de la durée de réverbération. On en a déduit une méthode de prévision de la dispersion des mesures. Les résultats expérimentaux sont en bon accord avec la théorie.

Die Bestimmung der akustischen Eigenschaften eines Raumes erfolgt im allgemeinen aufgrund der gemessenen Nachhalldauer.

Die erhaltenen Ergebnisse zeigen eine gewisse Streuung, die einerseits mit der Schallquellen-und Mikrophonposition, andererseits mit der Meßmethode selbst zusammenhängt. Bei der letzteren ist die Art der benutzten Schallquelle und die angewandte Berechnungsmethode von Einfluß.

Die verschiedenen Meßmethoden der Nachhalldauer wurden auf der Grundlage der existierenden Theorien miteinander verglichen. Daraus wurde eine Methode zur Vorhersage der Meßwertstreuung abgeleitet. Die experimentellen Ergebnisse stimmen gut mit der Theorie überein.
