Open Access The Problem of the “Two Thirds” (Pythagoras or Zarlino). The Psycharithmetic and Experimental Solution. II

The debate on the “true” value of the third, 5/4 or (9/8)2, dates from antiquity. Psycharithmetical theory has brought a solution for it deduced from data of direct musical experiments. These have been undertaken with an instrumental sonometer in order to compare the results with the conclusions already drawn from casual observations. The first of these results have been communicated in the preceding article [1]. In this second paper which follows the same theme, a succession of experiments, their results and the conclusions are discussed. In confirming the ideas initially set forth they have brought a new viewpoint on a generality of the phenomenon of identification by tolerance.
