Textured LiFePO4 Bulk with Enhanced Electrical Conductivity

The intrinsic electrical conductivity of LiFePO4 is important to its use as a lithium storage electrode. In this communication, we successfully prepared high quality LiFePO4 bulk with texture structures by a rapid arc‐melting treatment. The LiFePO4 bulk materials, which have millimeter dimensions, have highly enhanced electronic conductivity of 9.5 × 10−7 S/cm along [020] direction at room temperature. The electrical conductivity of LiFePO4, which have been increased by about three orders of magnitude, is interesting to investigate high‐performance cathode for Li‐ion batteries.
