A method is described for the determination of general solutions to the equations governing the steady two‐dimensional motion of a viscous liquid. Solutions are found both implicitly defined and explicitly containing two arbitrary complex functions. In general the solutions are confined to specific regions of the complex plane depending on the arbitrary functions.
