Affiliations: Dominique Jarrassé is professor of contemporary art history at the Université de Michel de Montaigne Bordeaux 3. He has published on the history of nineteenth-century architecture, particularly concerning spa-towns and synagogues. His current works examine Jewish art and colonial art as well as the process of ethnicization of the history of art in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries from an historiographic point of view. His most recent publication is entitled Existe-t-il un art juif?, Éditions Biro, 2006.
